Port Berth Generator

Every shipping, military, and repair port in the world is full of massive, large tonnage sea-going vessels that rise and fall with the earth’s tides. The downward forces of ships’ weight and gravity are being countered by the lift and buoyancy of the sea, creating vast potential energy from this tidal rising and falling vertical motion.

The Port Berth Generator is designed with three different configurations, from simplest to more complex:

• Water pumping for irrigation inland from the shoreline
• A closed loop hydraulic system driving permanent magnet DC generators
• A large-scale hydraulic system supplying the port with hydraulic pressure for container gantries, or hydraulic motors within the port

Of note, container shipping vessels, merely by virtue of the loading and unloading of their cargo, also create vertical motion energy, even in tideless waters such as those found in the North American Great Lakes.
